Milan Bergamo to Agliano Terme

From the airport you follow the green signs saying “Autostrada“, follow these all the way, and do not be distracted by other signs, just follow the green signs for autostrada in direction Milan A4/E66. You get to a toll booth where you pick up a ticket. You are now on the A4 autostrada. After a while on the autostrada you will see signs for Genova A7 (the signs are located a large factory called STAR on your right), turn off here and you will soon come to a toll station where you pay 3,10 euro. From there you will follow signs for Tangenziale/Bologna/Aeroporti and you will get on the Tangenziale (ovest) A50. Keep on following the signs Tangenziale/Bologna/Aeroporti until you see a Smeg sign on a building on your left and then when you pass some warehouses which displays lift-trucks (the lift arms are up in the air and you will see them on your right hand side), be aware, here you will turn off to the right in direction Genova A7 .

Follow the signs for Genova A7. When you see a big concrete communications tower on your left hand, get onto the middle lane of the road. You will soon after pass the Head Quarters of Autogrill (big modern building on your right hand side). There the road splits and you take a slight right (careful so you don’t take the right turn), you just go straight slightly to the right a little longer and then the road will curve down to the right. Go there, following signs to Genova A7 and E62  all the time.  You will now come to another toll booth where you take a ticket. This is the A7. Keep on going down on the A7 for about 30 mins or so. After you pass Castelnuovo S be aware signs for Torino A21 and E70,  you will turn off to the right in direction Torino A21.

Keep on going straight on the A21 in direction Torino and after about 15- 20 mins you will see the sign for Exit Asti Est. Turn off here  and go through the toll booth (cost 6,30 euro). Turn right after the toll booth and follow the signs for Cuneo/Alba. You will now come up on a dual carriage way. Keep on going straight and after 5-8 minutes you will pass a Esso gas station on your right. Some more minutes down the road and you will see a big sign for Nizza M, Canelli and Acqui T, turn off  here and go up the road to the right. You will soon pass through a tunnel.

Keep on going straight and you will soon be passing through Montegrosso d’Asti. Go straight and soon you will come to a traffic light (the first and only since you got off the motorway). Go straight through and after 400 m you will see the sign to Agliano Terme on the right (before the gas station). Turn off to the right here and go straight, do not turn off to the right when the road forks, but follow the winding road up the hill through the vineyards. On the top you will see a big sign for San Rocco and shortly after another for Agliano Terme. Right after this you will see our road , which is the tiny one on the right, marked Loc. Mucci. If you come to the turning area marked Green Village (on your left hand side) you have gone too far and will have to turn around. Go back and you will have our road to the left after 50 m. Loc Mucci is a small and quite steep gravel country lane, about 400m long, leading down to our house only.

PS. Please make sure you have some Euros when you start off driving. You have to pay for the autostrada and it’s so much faster to get through if you have cash. But they do take credit cards as well, so not to worry.
