The Village

You don’t need to use the car, we are in walking distance to our local village, Agliano Terme

Once here, you can walk into our local village through the vineyards, or use one of our mountain bikes which are at free disposal for our guests.

The village of Agliano Terme is simply stunning (see pictures). It has three cafes, the first has a wine bar and a sit down snack area plus outdoor tables. The second does great apperitivos in the early evening and is super for a pre-dinner drink, the third is a pasticceria and gelateria (with great cakes and the best home made ice cream you can think of). All make super coffee and breakfast brioches.

Agliano Terme also has a newsagent, a salumeria (delicatessen), a baker, a butcher, bank and post office and an excellent mini super market. There are also two good quality restaurants within the village. And as the name suggest, the village has it’s own Terme – termal bath – where the ladies can get pampered.

The larger winemaking towns of Nizza Monferrato and Canelli are only 10 or 15 minutes away and the province capital, Asti, is only 15 minutes from us in the other direction.

We are really well located (see directions) with easy and quick access to the A21 Autostrada. It takes 1 hour to Turin (Torino) which is a relatively undiscovered gem and we have a lot of information to help you enjoy your visit there. Just over 30 minutes away and a beautiful drive there is the Roman Spa town of Acqui Terme. In another direction and about 30 minutes drive are the famous wine towns of Alba, Barbaresco and then a little further to the wine villages of La Morra and Barolo. If you fancy a trip to the coast then Genoa (Genova) is 1 hour away and then onwards to Portofino and Cinque Terre which adds a bit more time. To the south the Italian Riviera welcomes you and if you would like to go to the mountains on the border to France, you will be there in about 90 minutes. Finally, Milan (Milano) with it’s airports and great shopping is also about 90 minutes away.
