The quintessential Piemontese town of Alba is renowned not only for its truffles and fine wines but also for its vibrant market days. Every Saturday from approximately
6:30 AM to 2:00 PM the town's streets come alive with bustling stalls that offer a plethora of local products from fresh produce to handcrafted goods and of course, the famed white truffles. This weekly market caters to the locals for their weekly grocery needs as well as to visitors who are eager to explore the old Alba streets and experience life in Piemonte. The permanent shops in Alba are also worthy of discovery, with high fashion high quality specialties. We go to this market nearly every week to stock up on our ingredients for some fabulous cooking 🇮🇹 at Villa Mucci!
Something for Everyone
🍅 Fresh, seasonal fruits & vegetables, flowers & herbs are are showcased in the grand covered pavilion at the main entrance.
🧀 Local artisan cheeses like Toma & Robiola, meats & poultry, fresh fish and breads are celebrated in pop-up trucks on the perimeter for easy shopping.
🍯 Piemontese delicacies such as hazelnuts, honey, preserves and of course when in season, white truffles are sold in the Mercato della Terra area which focuses on local, sustainable & artisan products.
🛍️ From handcrafted textiles to pottery, household items to leather goods & clothing, Alba offers unique, locally made items perfect for souvenirs or gifts.

Fiera Internazionale del Tartufo Bianco d'Alba (International Alba White Truffle Fair): This world-renowned event takes place in the fall, attracting gourmands from around the globe to savor and celebrate the prestigious white truffle.
The Vinum Food & Wine Festival transforms the historic center with wine tastings from the Langhe, Roero & Monferrato areas
Jazz & Music Festivals are held throughout the year at different times. Truly a perfect way to enjoy this beautiful city.

Get there early so you can get a place to park below the city walls.
Bring a recyclable shopping tote with you and wear comfortable shoes.
Remember that the vendors close down early. Shop in the morning, then
enjoy lunch and a glass of wine at one of the many fabulous cafes.
